What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is slowing down ones thoughts and body to focus on the present moment. We can often get overwhelmed with our life task areas that we begin to negatively react to situations instead of responding. Being mindful in counseling can assist in becoming more aware of thoughts, emotions and behaviors without judgment in order to begin processing what is needed. Utilizing various mindfulness skills can assist in the healing change one wants.
