What is Telemental Health?

Telemental health is defined as when the mental health counselor is in one location and the client in a different location with the use of technology. The technology platform that is used is HIPPA complaint for your personal health information, so in others words it is safe and confidential. During this time with COVID-19 telemental health allows clients the ability to still have access to a counselor for their mental health needs. Telemental health has benefits that might be barriers for in person counseling. Those benefits are flexibility, convenience, eases stigma, and comfort of your own safe space. In Person Counseling.

Talk therapy is traditional in person counseling to process life transitions and mental health concerns. It is an open therapeutic relationship between client and counselor and moves at the client’s pace having an opportunity to explore their negative thoughts and uncomfortable emotions they are experiencing.

 

Creative Art.

Creative art interventions include music, books, writing, coloring, drawing, play and more. Creative art interventions provide the client to gain a unique perspective on the change they seek through self-expression, mindfulness, and healthy acceptance.
